Finding fault with Volkswagen Transporter Gearboxes,

If you suffer from a whining noise under accerleration and then deccerleration then you might well have a gearbox bearing starting to wear, This is normally a different noise from a wheel bearing as wheel bearings tend to change noise/pitch with cornering. If you think that you have either of these problems please give us a ring and we will gladly give your Transporter a road test and then a diagnosis.

The other fault than can effect the Transporter is the Dual mass flywheel which will give a knocking noise on tick over and when the engine is turned off. This fault requires replacement of the Dual mass flywheel and clutch kit.
